A few weeks ago it became official: Im shooting one of the cutest couples in America’s wedding this September. My dear friend Brittany & the love of her life, Kirk. I was so freakin’ excited I nearly burst! So naturally, I decided to take a lil bit of it out on Instagram. haha
So for those of you who missed my lil introduction, Meet Brittany:
Years ago (gosh I can’t believe Im already saying that!) we met on a summer abroad. Actually, the very summer I picked up my first camera. We became instant friends & it didn’t take me long to realize this chick had a heart the size of the world & a faith to admire. She’s bubbly, ridiculously creative, & yet so humble, its insane. I can remember so many bus rides through bumpy Italian terrain chatting endlessly about Jesus, how we were doomed to be single forever, & what we wanted to do when we grew up. Today, she’s engaged to one heck of a guy & living her dream, designing unbelievable restaurants…& I, living mine, married to an amazing man & story telling. I absolutely can’t believe now, however many years later, I get to tell her love story. I love it when God brings life full circle – He is so faithful.
& now Meet Kirk:
It honestly took me all of .5 seconds to have that “uh huh, yah, they’re perfect for each other” moment after meeting Kirk at this session a couple weeks ago. Kirk is basically a lil mix of everything. He is a man’s man, whiskey & craft beer loving. He is a lit major turned designer. & on top of all that, he is kind of hilarious – he kept us laughing the entire session. Kirk is the type that knows what he wants & chases after it – I love seeing how that played out in his pursuit of Brittany.
Because I know this is already super long I’ll give you the short version of their adorable story that I also shared on Instagram:
Boy co owns a kick ass men’s store, Girl walks into that men’s store with a friend whose shopping for her fiancé, Boy spots Girl for the first time & let’s just say, lays the mack down, Girl leaves the store with butterflies…the rest is history.
After falling in love with their love story, I suggested we shoot at the place where it all began: Tweeds.
