Welcome to part 2 of the amazing Stafford Wedding! If you missed Part 1, check it out HERE!
After a busy yet super relaxed morning of getting ready, we headed over to downtown Opelika to take some pretty portraits & to get these two HITCHED! So lets just have a moment of real talk. I said this on my instagram, but I’m going to further explain this semi embarrassing story. So, when we arrived at the venue where the rest of the nights festivities would ensue….I teared up. YALL. How awkward is that?! I know, Im nuts but let me explain:
I talked a lil bit about this on their engagement post (which you can find HERE), but I studied abroad with Brittany a handful of years ago in Italy. Brittany & I got super close super quick because no only is this chick such a JOY to be around, she also shares the same beliefs in Jesus that I do & that always makes for an extra special bond. Anyhow, we were both very single at the time & I remember countless bus rides sitting next to Britt, talking about our who our dream guys would be & all the struggles that come along with desiring that which we didn’t yet have. Typical girl stuff, right?! :) Okay now flash forward 4 years to me walking into Britt’s ceremony site. She just had the biggest smile on her face when she saw how unbelievably perfect everything came together & I don’t know what came over me but I just felt a rush of Gods faithfulness wash over me & thats when it happened. Yep, I began to tear up. Here I am, married to my dream guy, shooting my dream wedding… for a friend who is marrying her dream guy at her dream wedding. God is so good. His timing is so perfect. He is so faithful. In that moment, I not only felt like the luckiest photog in the world – but also the luckiest wife in the world. Thats one reason I love shooting weddings: because they make you feel. They remind you how blessed you are. Brittany & Kirk, thank you for giving me that reminder on your gorgeous wedding day.
…….STAY TUNED KIDS, THE FUNS NOT OVER QUITE YET! ;)
