Katie went to Auburn (War Eagle!) & Ryan, Fsu. Which we can forgive him for because of the way they met….One word: RODEO. If you went to Auburn, you understand how epic that is. (Insert kitty cat with laughing tears emoji here.) To make a long story short, it was love at first sight & the rest is history.
When I met Katie & her mom it was also love at first, lets say, meet! Katie had only been engaged for a few weeks & the two were just beaming. So full of energy. I could have sat there for hours chatting & laughing with the two of them – thats when I know Im in for a treat especially on the wedding day. & truly, the wedding day was no different! It was full of energy, laughings, happy tears, & so so so much love. I could not have asked for two sweeter families to work with – the bridesmaids were just darling – the groomsmen were a blast – & most of all, the couple. Ohhhh this couple. Not only are the absolutely stunning, I mean thats just obvious, they are also so much fun to be around & so undeniably head over heels for each other.
I kinda have a lil theory that you can tell a lot about a couple through the gifts they give each other on the wedding day. Katie hit the nail on the head with a pair of brand spankin’ new white on white golf shoes, cleeeearly speaking Ryan’s love language there. & Ryan not only gave Katie a beautiful gold band, but he also got major major bonus points for straight up pulling out scissors & glue to put together a collage of pictures & love notes for his bride…I died. So much thoughtfulness between the two of them – I just love it.
Katie & Ryan, never stop being thoughtful – its such a huge part of keeping the excitement alive in marriage. Continue the love notes, the flowers, the surprise gifts, the creative dates – It goes a long way. :) I am beyond thankful that you chose me to document this significant part of your love story, I loved each and every second of it. I am so blessed to know you two! May there be many many many more years filled with the love and excitement we all felt so strongly on your beautiful wedding day. (& epic dance parties too! ;))
This past wedding weekend took me to Larkspur, Colorado where I had the pleasure of capturing Dan & Kate’s big day! My friend Jill Tiongco joined me for what I would call nothing short of an adventure. This beautiful couple refused to let tornado warnings, heavy rain, & freezing cold weather ruin their joy — when Dan saw his stunning bride coming down the isle, his face said it all. They were surrounded by some of the most excited guests i’ve ever seen – the rest of the night was a complete celebration of what God has done in Kate & Dan’s life & the dance party….lets just say it was epic. There were definitely moments where I saw couples sneaking off to dance in the rain, it was just amazing.
Like many middle school or high school sweethearts, It all started with a classic game of truth or dare, over 7 and a half years ago. She likes cats, He likes chemistry. She likes vanilla, He likes Chocolate. They are kind, they are easy going, and they are so in love. What more could I ask for in a bride & groom?! This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of capturing these two long time lovers become one. & When that reality began to sink in, nothing, not even the rain, could put a damper on their excitement! From start to finish, it was a fabulous affair. The ladies at Weddings Inc. did an amazing job coordinating all the details & my unbelievably talented friend Jesse from Dreamtown co., made an for an amazing 2nd shooter || assistant || partner in crime. Without any further babbling, Id like to present to you Catherine & Curtis’s BIG DAY! whoohoo!
She is a beauty. She is a lover of Jesus. She is a leader. She is just overall so dang adorable & I have been blessed to have gotten to spend a couple of hours getting to know her & capturing the essence of who she is in the stage of life. Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE working with seniors?! Gah, they are just the best y’all.
A lover of laughter, music, singing, girly dresses, places with an antique feel to them, flowers, the outdoors, etc. We emailed back & forth a bunch before her session brainstorming together how to make her session unique while reflecting her personality & those interests interests & ended up shooting in my most favorite place EVER: my neighborhood! [ Side note: Im still waiting for my neighbors to recognize their yards in my photos…. ;) ]
We clicked from the instant Kristin pulled up to my house with the biggest smile on her face, all ready to go! She told me right off the bat that she trusted me to shoot wherever I thought was best & y’all, that is MUSIC to a photographers ears. Instantly I felt freedom to be creative & try shoot outside the box. From jumping into bushes, & staring into the sun – Kristin was down. Goodness gracious I love this adventurous spirit that seniors have. It makes work feel like anything but that.
Kristin, you are not only beautiful, but radiant as well & I absolutely loved getting to know you. Thank you so much for being SUCH a joy to work with. Its people like you that make me love my job so much!
